Last month, we brought you news of a
petition to save the fan-made King's Quest IX: Every
Cloak Has a Silver Lining, a sequel to the King's Quest series. It seems to have worked, as Vivendi have
given the green light to the game, granting a fan licence to Phoenix Online Studios so that development can
continue.
Unfortunately, they've had to change the name to A Silver Lining, but the use of King's Quest
characters will continue through the trilogy of planned games. The official stamp is great news for fans of game series
that are no longer continued, but we have to wonder how many extra sales of the eight existing King's Quest games the
publicity surrounding KQIX has garnered.
